This passage leads visitors to the colonnaded second courtyard of the monastery. On both sides of the corridor, there are two rectangular rooms with barrel-vaulted ceilings and loophole windows that allow natural light inside.
These rooms were built using a traditional local mortar called “cas”, known for its climate-controlling properties. It is believed that these spaces once served as gathering areas for the monastery’s residents.
